The Silence
I am in the middle of preparing for something big...so huge that it could be that start of the rest of my life. I'll keep you posted. Meanwhile, here is a random picture I took the other day.

The Pinnacle

Yesterday, Evan and I packed a lunch and headed to the Appalachian Trail. We followed the white blazes and clambered our way up a small section to a couple different lookouts- Pulpit Rock and The Pinnacle. Each bestowed a view of rusty oranges, subdued browns, and understated golden yellows characteristic of autumn's last breath before it surrenders itself to winter's bite.

Better Together

Evan and I shared a bowl of cherries this afternoon. I'm not sure what was more fun- eating the cherries or spitting the pits out- at each other.
.
After rolling out of bed this morning I was eager to get started on my new abstract/surrealistic piece inspired by contemporary interior design. The canvas that I'll be using is so much bigger than just about everything I've worked on to date, but I think it will be a lot of fun to have a bit more room for looseness. So far I've gotten a few pencil marks on the stark white expanse. As soon as it start to look like something I'll be sure and post pictures.

Granola
My ever-present need to create drew me into the kitchen today in an effort to make something with my hands--something that would produce instant gratification. I turned to my tried-and-true granola recipe. Ten minutes later (plus a few extra to snap some photos) my kitchen was enveloped in the fragrance of sweet honey, brown sugar, and toasted nuts baking in the oven.Life is so sweet...and crunchy!

Face It
As of today I am officially no longer a resident of Maine. I surrendered my Vacationland driver's license, plates, title, and registration for ones barring the mark of the Keystone state of Pennsylvania..
I find myself struggling with these present transformations to my identity along with my newly acquired status as a graduate holding degrees in both Communications and Studio Art.
.
Who am I? Where I am going? What next?

These days I'm:
Engaged, Evan's Fiance, PA resident, Newly grad, Dogowner, Server, Mountainbiker, Artist...

But these are just labels. I need more. I need meaning. Purpose. Understanding. True Self.
Meanwhile, there is solice in the ordinary, familiarity in the routine, comfort in the mundane.

...Like with the plants on my windowsill.
